
Course Description
NRG 107 – Microbiology and Parasitology provides an overview of microorganisms and parasites of medical importance, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa, and helminths. The course emphasizes their morphology, classification, transmission, pathogenicity, and role in human disease, with particular focus on host–pathogen interactions, immunity, and infection control. Basic laboratory principles and preventive measures are discussed to support safe and effective nursing practice in the prevention and management of infectious diseases.
